Lord Petre’s family have been resident in Essex for over 450 years and he continues to manage the family’s 3000 acre estate, centred on the historic house, Ingatestone Hall.
As such, he and his predecessors have long been part of the very fabric of the heritage of Essex but, having served as Lord Lieutenant of the County (2002 – 2017), he has also had the opportunity to familiarise himself with almost every corner of this large and singularly diverse county.
